dc.description | Newspapers in Ballinger trace their history to the early 1880s. The Ballinger Leader was founded in 1881 and continued to be published under that title until it merged with a newspaper titled the Banner. The merged newspaper, the Banner-Leader was published under this title until the end of 1912. The newspaper merged with the Runnels County Ledger in early 1913. The Banner-Ledger was published under this title and associated daily and semi-weekly titles until 1933. In 1933, the newspaper name was changed to the Ballinger Ledger. | |
